This is a good one. It's a family favorite, made with apples from Meaford, but it takes a while to peel the apples. Ask Gramma or Pappa to do that part!
Ingredients
- 2 cups Apples
- 3 tbsp Brown Sugar
- 1/4 cup Flour
- 1/4 cup large flake oats (not quick-cook)
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 3 tbsp Butter
Instructions
- Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl.
- Cut in the butter with a pastry blender until crumbly. Set aside.
- Peel and chop the apples into wedges.
- Put apples into a 8x8-inch pan.
- Spread the crumb mixture on top of the apples. Spread smoothly. Press with your hands.
- Bake in oven for 35 minutes at 350 F.
- Take out of oven and allow to cool.
- Dish-up! Makes a good dessert. YUMM!!!!!!!!!!!!
Notes
Also good to eat with a little bit of cream, whip cream or ice cream on top.
You can double or triple the recipe, or just the topping if it's your favorite part!
